Department
Vestas has been operating on the Latin American market since 1992 with a Sales & Service office located in Buenos Aires. More recently new offices have been opened in Sao Paolo, Mexico DF and Santiago de Chile. Wind farms are mainly located in Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, Jamaica, República Dominicana, México and Argentina.

With regards to Brazil, there is massive potential in the region with a rapidly growing demand in electricty, and a number of wind developers are very active in the region. In order to crystallize all the existing activity into relevant business results, this market is demanding the engaged leadership of experienced industry players.

The Finance Department and more specifically the controllership role in Vestas plays a very important part in the current growth strategies of the company globally. Exposure to Mgt, both Head Quarters & Manuf. Plants while dealing with monthly reconciliation, controlling analysis, SOX & compliance processes will be imminent & crucial in the role.

Responsabilities
Business Partner on site with ownership of local numbers & responsibility for local regulatory and statutory accounting
Overall responsible for controlling and reporting in the country including:
Challenging the organization to ensure delivery of quarterly cash flow and earnings targets
Early engagement and involvement in value creating commercial assessment of pre-sales activities (including maximization of earnings and cash profile)
Project and service controlling including cost development, performance management and action plans
Performance follow up
Internal and Management Reporting (including on time and accurate monthly reporting)
Budget, Forecast and target setting
Follow-up on cost development and proactive actions / recommendations to keep cost under control
Tax and Compliance
Cash Management
Responsible for implementation of the global financial processes and associated controls (SoX environment), including the correct use of Vestas Financial systems including related internal and external Audits
Drive performance tracking and transform performance management knowledge into tangible P&L and balance sheet impact, enabling accurate guidance for financial and strategic decision making for the country
Act as both advisor and financial gatekeeper in relation to local commercial decision making by the business
Identify and report on major business and reporting risks, including the identification of mitigation plans
Drive and undertake high quality ad hoc / cross functional analysis for recommendation to the Regional Mgmt Team, including risk mitigation scenarios
Act as the preferred partner of choice for all finance and commercial issues to support the operational business
Qualifications
Master degree within business administration or equivalent
Strong knowledge of finance, audit, budgeting, accounting and law in force
Strong knowledge in tax & compliance
Strong knowledge of information System SAP/BI
Competencies
Curiosity to understand complexities of markets within the region / cluster
Understand and proactively influence pre-sales
Commercial focus – needs to have a good feeling for the sales business
Feels proud of having no local compliance and tax issues

Has the ability to have “a regional view from a country perspective” and is able to communicate clearly with Region South Europe Consolidation Team
Leadership by influence as opposed to control – you bring something to the table
Strong personality able to deal with different cultures and behaviors
Strong supporter for the SSC interface
Business financial skills and understanding of project accounting and contracting
Knowledge about accounting guidelines and principles
Systematic and result oriented including analytical skills
Knowledge about SAP and ERP systems
Knowledge on the Renewable/ Wind Energy Market is not essential but will be considered
Good communication and cooperation skills
Strong proficiency in spoken and written English
Strong knowledge of the Vestas Value Chain
